Governor Ododo Chairs APC Primary Election Committee for Ekiti 2026 Governorship Race

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, as the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee for Ekiti State ahead of the 2026 governorship poll.

 

The appointment, confirmed by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, emphasizes the party’s commitment to facilitating a smooth and credible consensus process in the state.

 

The committee leadership includes Edo State Governor, Monday Okhpebolo, as the Deputy Chairman, and Mr. Taiwo Sunmonu as the Secretary. Other members include Iyom Nikky Ejezie, Elis Abraham, Rufus Bature, Latif Ibirogba, Dr Chibuzor Agu, Chief Dr Gabriel Oyebode, Chief Hope Dike, and Shehu Umaru.

 

Governor Ododo’s committee is tasked with overseeing the affirmation of Governor Biodun Oyebanji as the APC’s sole governorship candidate during the primary election scheduled for Monday at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado Ekiti.

 

The party has already selected five delegates per ward to participate in this affirmation process.

 

The Chairman of the Congress Committee, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, commended the peaceful conduct of the preceding ward congress in Ikogosi Ekiti, praising party members for their unity.
