Ekiti Governor Restates Commitment to Working with Genuine Investors

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has assured investors that his administration has put in place robust structures to guarantee a seamless and business-friendly environment within the state.

The Governor made this statement on Tuesday in Ado Ekiti while receiving a delegation from the British High Commission, led by the Deputy High Commissioner, Lagos, Mr. Jonny Baxter.

Governor Oyebanji stated that Ekiti State remains open to credible partnerships that will accelerate its development agenda and improve the living standards of its people.

He highlighted that his government has prioritized reforms in critical sectors, including agriculture, tourism, and technology, to actively attract both local and foreign investors. The state offers a peaceful atmosphere, abundant human capital, and strategic locations that position it as an ideal destination for investment.

The Governor emphasized the core values of his administration, noting that Ekiti has been consistently rated high in transparency, accountability, and integrity in governance.

He asserted that these values have earned the state the confidence of development partners and investors.

Governor Oyebanji provided specific assurance regarding the investment climate: “We believe strongly that capital will move to any community or state where it is treated well, so we have in place structures like infrastructure, security and access.”

He also noted his role in overseeing the state’s Ease of Doing Business Committee to ensure that all impediments to business operations are removed. The Governor concluded by thanking the British Government for its continued interest in Nigeria’s development and expressing optimism that the renewed engagement would open new areas of collaboration between Ekiti State and the United Kingdom.

In his remarks, Deputy British High Commissioner Mr. Jonny Baxter commended Governor Oyebanji for his visionary leadership and for successfully creating a business-friendly environment in the state. He expressed the United Kingdom’s readiness to strengthen ties with Ekiti State in areas of mutual interest.
