MTN Announces Scheduled Network Maintenance in Adamawa, Borno, Kano

MTN Nigeria has announced a scheduled network maintenance exercise set for October 25, which is expected to cause a temporary disruption in connectivity across specific areas of Adamawa, Borno, and Kano states.
The maintenance window is planned for two hours, from 6:00 am to 8:00 am, and will affect a total of 101 network sites spread across 15 local government areas (LGAs) in the three northern states.
The company stated that this activity is part of its ongoing, long-term effort to improve service reliability and strengthen its fibre infrastructure in the region. MTN described the exercise as a continuation of restoration work that began in August 2025 along the same route.
The work involves a fibre cutover on a newly relocated cable segment between AFCOT and Bawo village. The company noted that this involves replacing previously damaged cable spans and reducing multiple joints, which have been affecting the optical performance and stability of the network.
The maintenance, according to MTN, will ultimately ensure “stronger, more resilient connections for our customers in the affected regions.”
