Governor Yusuf Reaffirms Loyalty to Kwankwaso, Dismisses Rumours of Political Rift

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has dismissed widespread speculations of a rift between him and his political mentor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, insisting that those attempting to sow discord between them will not succeed.
Speaking in Madobi on Tuesday during an event marking Kwankwaso’s 69th birthday, Yusuf restated his unwavering loyalty to the former governor and pledged to uphold the principles of the Kwankwasiyya movement.
“Those within and outside trying to create a quarrel between me and our leader, Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, will not succeed,” Yusuf declared.
“We will continue to follow the legacy and principles of the Kwankwasiyya movement because Kwankwaso is a God-given leader.”
The governor prayed for Kwankwaso’s long life and good health, describing the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) leader as a visionary whose leadership continues to inspire progress in Kano State.
His remarks came amid earlier reports of a movement dubbed “Abba Tsaya da Kafarka” (Abba Stand on Your Feet), allegedly spearheaded by former Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Baffa Bichi, and former Commissioner for Transport, Alhaji Salisu Digol.
The group was said to be advocating greater administrative independence for Governor Yusuf, a move analysts feared could strain his relationship with Kwankwaso.
However, Yusuf’s latest comments appear to dispel such concerns, reaffirming his loyalty to Kwankwaso’s political ideology and the unity that brought the NNPP to power in the state.
