CDS Gen. Christopher Musa warns enemies of Nigeria’s unity will be treated as enemies of the state

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has issued a stern warning to individuals and groups whose actions undermine Nigeria’s sovereignty and national unity, declaring that such persons would be regarded and treated as enemies of the state.

Gen. Musa gave the warning while addressing journalists in Abuja, stressing that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain fully committed to defending the country’s territorial integrity and ensuring peace and stability across all regions.

He noted that Nigeria’s unity is non-negotiable, adding that the military will not tolerate any act capable of threatening the nation’s corporate existence.

“Anyone working against the sovereignty and unity of Nigeria is an enemy of the state, and we will treat them as such,” Gen. Musa stated firmly.

The Defence Chief emphasized that the military has made significant progress in combating terrorism, banditry, and other security threats, and will continue to intensify operations to protect citizens and safeguard national interests.

He called on Nigerians to support the Armed Forces through intelligence sharing, community cooperation, and patriotic conduct, noting that national security is a collective responsibility.

“We are committed to ensuring that every part of Nigeria remains safe and peaceful. This is our duty to the nation, and we will not relent,” he added.

Gen. Musa’s warning comes amid renewed calls for separatist movements and increasing security challenges in parts of the country.
