Police Nab Four Over Toddler’s Cult Initiation in Delta State
The Delta State Police Command has apprehended four individuals allegedly involved in the initiation of a toddler into a cult group in Sapele, Delta State.
The shocking incident came to light after a disturbing video surfaced online, showing the young child blindfolded while the suspects poured an alcoholic drink into his mouth as part of the initiation ritual.
The toddler could be heard crying out in distress as the act was carried out.
Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, described the incident as “an evil act” and assured that justice would be served. “These suspects have been arrested for the wicked act committed against this innocent child,” Edafe stated.
He added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation Department at the police headquarters for further investigation and prosecution.
The video has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many Nigerians calling for severe punishment for those involved to serve as a deterrent to others.
