Rep. Remi Oseni Hails Tinubu’s Student Loan Scheme as ‘Pathway to Liberation’ for Nigerian Youth

A member of the House of Representatives representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Hon. Remi Oseni, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s student loan scheme, describing it as a life-changing initiative capable of liberating millions of young Nigerians from the shackles of poverty and illiteracy.
Oseni made the remarks on Saturday during a massive endorsement rally for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and his 2027 re-election bid. The rally, held in Apata, Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State, attracted thousands of artisans, traders, youth groups, and political stakeholders.
The event also commemorated one year of grassroots mobilisation by the Remi Oseni Campaign Organisation Foundation (ROCOF) — a movement Oseni established to promote equity, empowerment, and progress among workers and traders across Oyo State.
Reflecting on his own educational background, the lawmaker said he understood the power of accessible education in changing lives.
“I am who I am today because I benefited from free education,” Oseni stated. “That is why I find President Tinubu’s student loan scheme deeply inspiring. It is one of the most visionary policies of this administration — a genuine pathway to freedom for every Nigerian youth whose dreams are limited by financial constraints.”
He emphasised that the initiative would help reduce inequality by ensuring that children from low-income families could access higher education and pursue their aspirations without financial barriers. “Education is enlightenment,” he said. “The ability to read and write frees you from the prison of ignorance. This student loan scheme gives every willing Nigerian youth a fair chance to rise, learn, and contribute meaningfully to national development.”
Oseni commended President Tinubu for prioritising human capital development despite the country’s current economic challenges, describing the student loan policy as a “legacy reform” that will reshape Nigeria’s future.“This is not just an education policy,” he added. “It is a social reformation tool that ensures no Nigerian child is denied education because of background or circumstance. For this bold step, we must appreciate and stand by the President.”
The lawmaker reaffirmed the commitment of ROCOF to grassroots empowerment, stating that the movement’s goal transcends politics. “Our mission is to liberate our people through education, empowerment, and economic inclusion — not through violence or propaganda. We are a covenant of destiny, a vanguard of progress, and a force committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Addressing speculations about a possible governorship ambition, Oseni dismissed the claims, insisting that his focus remains on supporting President Tinubu and strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 elections.
“This is not about personal ambition,” he clarified. “I have not told anyone I’m running for governor. My immediate goal is to deliver one million votes for President Tinubu in 2027 and return the APC to Agodi Government House.”
The lawmaker urged citizens, particularly the youth, to embrace the opportunities provided by the student loan scheme and other federal initiatives, saying they represent real hope for a stronger, more inclusive Nigeria.
