Ailing Finance Minister Edun Sighted at London Art Fair

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has been seen at the 1-54 London Art Fair, despite reports of him being unwell. 

A short video shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday showed the ailing Minister in the company of two other people at the O’DA Art Gallery booth. This sighting in London comes as the Minister continues to recover from an illness that initially saw him receiving treatment in Nigeria, a development previously confirmed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Subsequent reports indicated that the Minister had traveled to the United Kingdom to seek further medical attention, with a source quoted by the press confirming the trip.

This journey necessitated a change in his official itinerary, as he was unable to attend the World Bank and International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings in Washington, D.C., which began on Tuesday, October 14. Instead, the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, is leading Nigeria’s delegation to the global finance meetings.
