Senator Daniel Urges Support for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election, Cites Solid Minerals Boom

Senator Gbenga Daniel, representing Ogun East, has passionately called on the Nigerian populace to back the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu in 2027, highlighting what he described as unparalleled economic transformation, particularly within the solid minerals sector.
The former Ogun State Governor made the appeal on Sunday during the “Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Otunba Gbenga Daniel Mid-term Community Assessment and Review tour” held in Ijebu Imushin, Ijebu East Local Government Area.
Senator Daniel lauded the President’s “bold reforms,” stating they have effectively repositioned the nation’s mining industry and demonstrated the administration’s resolve to diversify Nigeria’s economic base.
He presented startling figures to underscore his commendation, noting a dramatic increase in government revenue from solid minerals.
“The mining sector under President Tinubu has received greater attention, and the revenue from the solid minerals sector has grown from N6 billion to N38 billion in just one year,” the Senator announced.
Daniel hailed this surge as a “record-breaking achievement driven by efficiency, transparency, and accountability.” He further explained the policy shift driving this success: “This was made possible by the President’s bold declarations that the era of exporting raw minerals is over and that mining licences will only be granted to investors who commit to local processing and value addition.”
According to the Senator, this new mandate is a strategy for creating domestic employment and ensuring that the economic gains from mining remain within the country, fostering local industries and shared prosperity.
Addressing his constituents, Senator Daniel urged the people of Ogun East to maintain their support for the incumbent administration.
He argued that continuity in leadership, both at the federal level and for their legislative representatives, is crucial to the realisation of long-cherished regional goals.
He specifically cited the proposed creation of Ijebu/Remo State and the Ijebu Seaport project as aspirations that would be best actualised under the current political structure. “What we’re hearing is that one new state will emerge from each geopolitical zone. Continuity of the president and your representatives will make this dream a reality,” he assured the gathering.
The Senator clarified that the community tour served as a mechanism for grassroots engagement, designed to assess development progress, collect feedback, and directly communicate federal government policies to the populace. He highlighted his own legislative achievements, including people-focused interventions such as an eye-care programme that has benefited over 4,000 residents in the senatorial district.
He concluded by calling for sustained collaboration with the Federal Government and stakeholders to convert the region’s vast natural resources into enduring wealth for current and future generations.
