DSS Warns Public Against Impostor, Barry Donald

The Department of State Services (DSS) has warned the public over the activities of one Barry Donald, a dismissed staff of the Service, who is reportedly using the agency’s name to engage in fraudulent acts.

In a statement released on Thursday, the DSS alerted Nigerians to beware of Donald, describing his actions as “unscrupulous and criminal.” The Service said the former operative has been using the DSS name and identity to defraud unsuspecting members of the public, soliciting money and making false promises under false pretenses.

“The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby alerts members of the public of the activities of one Barry Donald, a dismissed staff. He is reportedly engaging in unscrupulous activities, including using the name of the Service to defraud unsuspecting members of the public,” the statement read.

The DSS advised citizens to desist from any form of dealings with Donald or anyone claiming to represent the Service without proper verification.

“Members of the public are therefore advised to desist from any dealings with him,” the statement added.

The agency emphasized that the DSS maintains official communication channels for all legitimate requests, enquiries, or complaints, and urged the public to use only those.
