Senator Imasuen Hails Tinubu’s “Bold Economic Reforms,” Says Policies Will Transform Nigeria

The Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District, Neda Imasuen, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his “bold and courageous” economic reforms, expressing optimism that the ongoing policy measures will eventually reposition Nigeria’s economy for sustainable growth.

Imasuen, who chairs the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, made the remarks during a visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) family in Ward 5, Umagbai, Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State, on Saturday.

He said although the initial impact of some of the administration’s reforms such as the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market had been tough on many Nigerians, they were necessary steps toward long-term stability and development.

“I must commend President Bola Tinubu for his bold and courageous economic reforms,” Imasuen said. “Such steps are necessary to turn the nation’s fortunes around. With consistency and public support, Nigerians will soon begin to see the positive impact of these measures.”

The Edo lawmaker urged citizens to remain patient and continue supporting the federal government’s efforts to rebuild critical sectors of the economy, particularly energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure.

He also lauded the APC leadership in Edo State for maintaining unity and focus despite political distractions, assuring party members that the federal government’s reform agenda would soon yield tangible benefits at the grassroots level.

According to him, the Tinubu administration’s focus on fiscal discipline, job creation, and investment in productive sectors would help reduce poverty and restore public confidence in governance.

Imasuen’s comments come amid ongoing national debate over the hardship caused by subsidy removal and the depreciation of the naira.

However, the senator maintained that the temporary pains would give way to economic recovery and prosperity if the current policies are sustained.
