Governor Mutfwang Declares First Lady Oluremi Tinubu as ‘My Mother,’ Lauds Compassion for Plateau State

Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, has publicly expressed profound admiration for Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, affectionately describing her as a “motherly figure” to the state’s citizens.
The governor went a step further, making the striking declaration that he has “applied” to have the First Lady as his own mother.
Governor Mutfwang made the heartwarming remarks over the weekend during the funeral service for Nana Lydia Yilwatda, the mother of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.
The service was held at the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) headquarters in Jos.
In his address, Governor Mutfwang commended Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s consistent demonstration of compassion and unwavering support for Plateau State, particularly during periods of challenge and sorrow.
“The Mother of the Nation, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has twice extended her motherly wings of love over us both to console and to encourage us as leaders striving to restore peace on the Plateau, in alignment with our identity as the Home of Peace and Tourism,” Mutfwang stated.
The highlight of the Governor’s speech was his personal anecdote regarding the First Lady. He revealed that even before Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda publicly referred to himself as the “First Son” of President Bola Tinubu, he had already made a profound personal commitment. “Before my younger brother, the APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, publicly offered himself as the First Son of President Tinubu, I had already applied to have her as my mother,” Mutfwang disclosed. “And so, let me repeat it with all humility and pride: She is my mother. Our mother’s visits to Plateau State have endeared her to our people.”
Governor Mutfwang also took the opportunity to express the state’s profound appreciation for the First Lady’s support towards their developmental goals.
He pledged that Plateau State would continue to align with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda. “While we are grateful for your presence at this solemn occasion, let me, on behalf of the good people of Plateau State, also thank you for your continued support for our developmental efforts,” Mutfwang added.
