Tinubu Preaches Religious Tolerance at APC Chairman’s Mother’s Funeral

President Bola Tinubu has charged Nigerians to set aside religious and ethnic differences and unite for the nation’s progress and growth.
He made the plea on Saturday in Jos, Plateau State, while speaking at the funeral service for Nana Lydia Yilwatda, the mother of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman.
The President stressed the need for harmonious coexistence among different religious adherents, citing his own family as an example: “I inherited Islam from my family, I didn’t change; but my wife is a pastor and she prays for me at all times. I have never convinced or converted her; I believe in the freedom of religion.”
.
Tinubu added that love for others is what truly matters, urging citizens to “learn to live together as one people.”
Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang thanked the President for attending the service and acknowledged that insecurity remains a major setback for the state.
He assured attendees that his administration has put modalities in place to promote peace and tranquility.
The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, paid tribute to his mother, who died at age 83, describing her as a dedicated, strong, and loving woman who lived a life of service and sacrifice to humanity.
Nana Lydia Yilwatda was later interred in Dungung, Kanke Local Government Area of the state.
