PDP, Atiku Celebrates Bauchi Governor at 67
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar have joined political leaders and citizens across Nigeria to celebrate the 67th birthday of Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
In separate congratulatory messages issued on Saturday, the PDP hailed Governor Mohammed, who also serves as the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, describing him as a visionary and exemplary leader whose commitment to good governance has brought tangible progress to Bauchi State and strengthened the party’s ideals nationwide.
The party lauded his transformational leadership, citing achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and human capital development, which have significantly improved living conditions in the state. “Governor Bala Mohammed’s leadership reflects the core values of our great party—service, accountability, and inclusiveness. His contributions continue to inspire confidence in the PDP’s mission to deliver good governance across the nation,” the statement read.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar also extended his felicitations to the Bauchi helmsman through a message shared on his official social media handle. Atiku described Mohammed as a committed public servant and a man of vision whose developmental strides have redefined Bauchi State’s trajectory. “Governor Bala Mohammed has consistently demonstrated the highest level of dedication to public service. His remarkable achievements in various sectors have not only uplifted Bauchi but also strengthened our collective faith in leadership driven by results,” Atiku stated.
The Bauchi State Government marked the occasion with tributes highlighting the governor’s decades-long service to the nation. Before his election as governor in 2019, Bala Mohammed had built a distinguished career in journalism, the federal civil service, and politics, serving as a senator representing Bauchi South and later as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. He was re-elected for a second term in 2023, a testament to his enduring popularity among the people.
Government officials and residents praised his administration for its developmental initiatives, including extensive road construction, rural electrification, agricultural support programs, and youth empowerment schemes that have boosted economic opportunities across the state. Traditional rulers, political figures, and community leaders also commended his accessibility, humility, and unwavering commitment to peace and progress.
As Governor Mohammed turned 67 on October 5, 2025, tributes poured in recognizing him as one of the most influential figures within the PDP—an advocate for unity, good governance, and grassroots development. His leadership continues to earn him respect both within the party and across Nigeria’s political landscape.
