Elon Musk Becomes World’s First $500 Billion Man

Tech billionaire, Elon Musk has once again climbed to the top of the global rich list, becoming the first person in history to amass a net worth of about $500 billion, according to Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires Index.

The Tesla and SpaceX chief executive hit the unprecedented milestone on Wednesday following a rally in Tesla’s stock, which added billions of dollars to his fortune in just a single trading session.

Musk’s wealth is largely tied to his holdings in Tesla, but also includes significant stakes in SpaceX, xAI, and other ventures.

The achievement further cements Musk’s dominance among the world’s wealthiest individuals, just weeks after Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison briefly overtook him when his company’s stock surged.

With this latest valuation, Musk has firmly reclaimed the top spot.

While Bloomberg and Forbes often publish slightly different wealth calculations, both trackers rank Musk ahead of other billionaires such as Bernard Arnault of LVMH, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and Ellison.

The $500 billion threshold is not only a personal milestone for Musk but also a historic marker in the world of high finance.

Market analysts note that the valuation underscores the volatility of tech-driven wealth, where a few percentage points in share price can add or wipe away tens of billions of dollars.

Musk’s fortune has also become a lightning rod for debate about global inequality. Critics point to the widening gap between the ultra-rich and ordinary citizens, while supporters highlight Musk’s role in pushing forward industries such as electric vehicles, private space travel, and artificial intelligence.

With markets remaining volatile, questions remain as to how long Musk can hold onto the crown. But for now, he stands alone as the first human ever to join the half-trillion-dollar club.
