Lagos 2027: Jandor declares governorship bid under APC

Lagos 2027: Jandor declares governorship bid under APC

The Lead Visioner of the Lagos4Lagos Movement and former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Dr. Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has officially declared his ambition to contest the 2027 governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Jandor, who made his declaration on Tuesday in Lagos, said his decision was driven by a continued desire to bring transformative leadership and inclusive governance to the state.

He noted that his movement into the APC was not only to align with the ruling party at the centre but also to ensure that Lagos residents benefit from the synergy between the state and federal government.

“Lagos deserves leadership that prioritises the people above personal interest. My aspiration remains the same to offer Lagosians an alternative that works for all, not just for a privileged few,” Jandor stated.

He assured party leaders and members that his entry into the APC would strengthen the ruling party ahead of the 2027 elections, adding that his Lagos4Lagos structure, which has a strong grassroots base, would complement the APC’s existing political machinery.

Recall that Jandor was the PDP candidate in the 2023 Lagos governorship election, where he lost to the incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC.

His defection and subsequent declaration under the ruling party is expected to reshape the political dynamics of Lagos ahead of the 2027 polls.

Political observers note that Jandor’s ambition within the APC may set the stage for intense internal contests as the party begins to consider potential successors to Governor Sanwo-Olu, whose tenure will end in 2027.
