Allow Jonathan Enjoy Retirement, Lagos APC Urges PDP

The All Progressives Congress in Lagos State has advised the Peoples Democratic Party to permit former President Goodluck Jonathan to bask in the glory of his retirement instead of enticing him to join the 2027 presidential race.

APC spokesman Seye Oladejo made this call following Jerry Gana’s declaration that Jonathan would vie for the presidency in 2027.

Oladejo expressed doubts about Jonathan’s chances of winning, citing numerous challenges, including legal issues, past records, and questions about his capacity.

“If he chooses to run, President Jonathan will need more than an overdose of good luck to stand a chance,” he said.

The APC spokesman also criticized Gana’s certainty about Jonathan’s candidacy, describing it as premature and “political theater.”

He questioned Gana’s relevance, given his long presence in politics without notable accomplishments.

Oladejo highlighted the difference between APC’s commitment to internal democracy and PDP’s apparent disregard for it.

He noted that PDP’s actions suggest they have already predetermined their presidential candidate.

The APC in Lagos reaffirmed its support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration and its agenda to revitalize the economy and improve infrastructure.

Oladejo urged PDP to focus on presenting implementable programs that address Nigerians’ challenges rather than relying on nostalgia or campaign rhetoric.
