1 Dies, Another Injured in Kwara Truck Accident
A lone truck accident along the Jebba-Ilorin Expressway in Kwara State on Monday has left one person dead and another seriously injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the truck, which was reportedly heading towards Ilorin, lost control and veered off the road before crashing.
The impact of the accident led to the immediate death of one occupant, while another sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who arrived at the scene shortly after the crash, confirmed the fatality.
They also disclosed that the injured victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
The Kwara State Sector Commander of the FRSC, while commiserating with the families of the victims, urged motorists to always exercise caution, maintain speed limits, and ensure their vehicles are in good working condition before embarking on trips, especially along highways prone to accidents.
The incident caused a temporary gridlock on the busy Jebba-Ilorin route, but normal traffic flow was later restored after the truck was cleared from the road.
