Niger State Governor Showcases 30-Year Development Plan at UN Assembly

Niger State Governor Umaru Bago has unveiled the state’s ambitious 30-year development plan at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The plan, built on four pillars – improved livelihoods, sustainable economy, urban renewal with rural transformation, and good governance – aims to lift millions out of poverty, promote world-class industries, and establish accountable institutions.
During the inaugural Niger Day event, Bago highlighted the state’s potential in agriculture, trade, technology, and cultural exchange, attracting global leaders, investors, policymakers, and members of the Nigerian diaspora.
Three significant Memoranda of Understanding were signed, focusing on agricultural mechanization, youth empowerment, and healthcare innovation.
These partnerships underscore Niger State’s commitment to people-centred sustainable development, transforming agriculture, empowering youth, boosting school enrolment, and enhancing primary healthcare.
Governor Bago’s participation in the 80th United Nations General Assembly, alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima, showcases the state’s New Niger agenda and potential for investment and growth.
