Labour Party Chairman Julius Abure Physically Attacked at Airport

The Labour Party has condemned the alleged physical attack on its National Chairman, Julius Abure, by a woman identified as Precious Oruche, popularly known as Mama P, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The incident occurred on Friday, leaving Abure shaken and the party leadership accusing “anti-democratic elements” of sponsoring the assault.
According to the party’s spokesperson, Obiora Ifoh, Abure was standing in line to board a Max Air flight to Benin when Mama P suddenly pounced on him. The confrontation continued onboard, despite pleas from flight attendants to calm down, and even persisted after the flight landed in Benin.
The attacker allegedly boasted of her connections with the highest police hierarchy in a video released later, claiming that nothing would happen to her and vowing to continue attacking Abure and other Labour Party executives.
The party leadership believes that the incident was politically motivated and called for the police to investigate and bring the perpetrators to book.
The Labour Party has urged its members to remain calm and await the outcome of the police investigation, warning against retaliation.
This incident is the latest challenge to Abure’s leadership, which has faced court rulings and factional disputes within the party.
