Tinubu Vows to Shield Nigerians from Poverty, Insecurity

President Bola Tinubu has declared his administration’s strong commitment to protecting Nigerians from the triple threats of poverty, criminality, and terrorism.

Speaking through the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, during a passing out parade for military courses in Kaduna on Saturday, President Tinubu emphasized that security challenges require more than just military action.

“We recognise that no amount of kinetic effort of our armed forces and other security agencies will guarantee the safety of our people if other key drivers of insecurity, such as poverty, unemployment, poor innovation and general economic and social disintegration have not been tackled,” he said.

Prioritizing Economic and Social Solutions

To address these root causes, the President outlined a holistic strategy under his Renewed Hope Agenda that goes beyond defense and internal security.

The administration’s key priorities include:

* Job creation

* Macroeconomic stability

* Improved investment environment

* Human capital development

* Poverty eradication and social security

He stated that these efforts will be driven by his “4D” diplomacy strategy: promoting democracy, driving economic development, nurturing Nigeria’s demographic potential, and engaging with the diaspora community.

President Tinubu expressed confidence that this approach will lead to “transformative strides” that will reposition Nigeria as a prime global investment destination.
