Embody Discipline, Patriotism, Soludo Urges NYSC Members

Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has charged members of the 2025 Batch “B” Stream II of the National Youth Service Corps to uphold the values of discipline, patriotism, and responsibility as they begin their service year in the state.
Represented by the state Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Mba, Soludo emphasized that the oath of allegiance taken by the corps members is a solemn promise to live out the principles of integrity, tolerance, and selfless service.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity Permanent Orientation Camp, Soludo praised the NYSC as a vital institution that fosters national integration and grassroots development.
He encouraged the corps members to take advantage of the opportunities available in Anambra and make a lasting impact, noting that their presence should be felt not just in their uniforms but in the integrity, kindness, and positive difference they make in their host communities.
The governor highlighted inspiring examples of corps members who have gone beyond their primary assignments to transform communities.
One notable example cited was a corps member who rebuilt a long-abandoned facility in Ayamelum Local Government Area, earning a State Honours Award and the admiration of the host community.
Soludo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the corps members, pledging to continuously improve camp facilities.
He also reiterated the government’s vision of building human capital through initiatives such as the “Solution Innovation District,” “Code Anambra Tech Bootcamps,” “One Youth, Two Skills Initiative,” and “Youth-in-Agribusiness Projects.”
In her remarks, NYSC Coordinator Pauline Ojisua noted that the orientation course is designed to instill values of discipline, patriotism, leadership, and national unity in the corps members.
She appealed for support to address infrastructure challenges in the camp, including inadequate accommodation for officials and collaborating agencies.
