Tinubu: Current Hardship Like Surgery, Prosperity Lies Ahead

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reassured Nigerians that the ongoing economic hardship will not last forever, promising that the current sacrifices will soon pave the way for growth and prosperity.

Speaking on Thursday, the President likened the present challenges to a painful surgery necessary to restore the nation’s long-term health.

According to him, while Nigerians are going through difficult times due to recent reforms, these measures are crucial to reposition the economy and build a stronger future.

“Our hardship today is like a surgery painful, but necessary. Soon, these sacrifices will bear fruit and bring about the prosperity that every Nigerian deserves,” Tinubu said.

The President urged citizens to remain patient and steadfast, assuring that his administration is committed to implementing policies that will reduce the cost of living, create jobs, and attract more investments into the country.

Since the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the exchange rate, Nigerians have faced rising inflation, higher transportation costs, and general hardship.

However, the government maintains that these reforms are vital to ending decades of economic distortions and to put the nation on a path of sustainable growth.

Tinubu pledged that palliatives and social intervention programmes would be strengthened to cushion the impact on the most vulnerable, stressing that the sacrifices being made today will ultimately secure a better future for the next generation.
