How Fubara Inspired PDP During Rivers Emergency Rule, Says Official

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ondo State chapter, has hailed Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State for his resilience and calm leadership during the recent political turbulence in his state, describing him as a source of inspiration to the party nationwide.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Akure, the PDP caretaker chairman in Ondo, Bakkita Bello, said Fubara’s ability to remain steadfast in the face of adversity reaffirmed the sanctity of the people’s mandate.

Bello noted that despite attempts to derail the will of Rivers people through what he termed “a political distraction,” the governor’s composure and democratic disposition prevailed, paving the way for his return to office.

“Your return is not only a victory for democracy but also a profound reaffirmation that the mandate freely given by the people of Rivers cannot be subverted by any force,” Bello said.

The PDP chieftain added that Fubara’s conduct during the crisis set an example for other leaders across the country on how to handle political challenges without compromising the rule of law or the trust of the electorate.

He further stressed that the Rivers governor’s resilience should inspire the party’s structures at both state and national levels to remain united, vigilant, and committed to protecting democracy in Nigeria.

“The Rivers episode shows that no matter how long it takes, truth and justice will always prevail.

Governor Fubara has given hope to our democracy, and we, as a party, celebrate his triumph,” Bello stated.

The Ondo PDP also urged Nigerians to draw lessons from the Rivers experience, maintaining that only respect for the people’s will can guarantee political stability and good governance in the country.
