Rivers APC Urges Nigerians to Reject Sowore’s Allegations Against Tinubu, Wike
The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on Nigerians to resist what it described as unfounded and divisive allegations made by the former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, against President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Speaking in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, the Rivers APC Chairman, Chief Tony Okocha, dismissed Sowore’s comments as “baseless” and an attempt to discredit the nation’s leadership.
“Recently, Sowore launched another wave of falsehoods against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Honourable Minister of the FCT, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike, CON.
These baseless allegations are nothing more than the bitter rantings of a man rejected by Nigerians at the polls and drowning in political irrelevance,” Okocha said.
He condemned Sowore’s description of the President in derogatory terms, insisting that such utterances were unbecoming of a responsible citizen.
“What an infra dig for a sane citizen of a country to outburst that the President, or whatever nomenclature used to refer to the highest office holder, is a ‘criminal’,” he added.
The Rivers APC chairman urged Nigerians to see through what he termed Sowore’s “antics as a serial merchant of discord,” stressing that the opposition figure was only peddling half-truths and propaganda.
“Nigerians must stand up against this rascal and nitwit desiring to rub the integrity of the country in the mud, rather than give heed to the antics of a purveyor of non-sequitous half truths,” he stated.
Okocha maintained that both Tinubu and Wike were committed to delivering good governance and should not be distracted by “politically motivated blackmail.”
