Moniepoint Named Among UK’s Top Fintech Companies by CNBC

Nigerian-founded Moniepoint Inc. has been recognised as one of the United Kingdom’s leading fintech firms, according to a new ranking published by CNBC in collaboration with market research company Statista.

The listing, released this week, assessed fintech companies operating in the UK based on key performance indicators including revenue growth, transaction volume, customer base, and capital raised between 2023 and 2024. Moniepoint’s inclusion highlights the growing international footprint of the African payments and digital banking giant.

Founded in Nigeria, Moniepoint has become one of Africa’s largest business payments and digital banking platforms, providing services for millions of businesses and individuals across the continent.

Its UK recognition comes just months after the launch of MonieWorld, a digital service aimed at facilitating remittances and delivering tailored financial products for Africans in the diaspora.

The UK was chosen as the pilot market for the platform, reflecting the country’s role as a key remittance hub for Africa.

Commenting on the recognition, Moniepoint’s Co-Founder and Group Chief Executive, Tosin Eniolorunda, said:

“We are delighted to be honoured once again by CNBC, this time as one of the UK’s top fintech companies. We are Nigerian-founded and proud of our heritage, but we recognise the importance of the UK market as both a strategic bilateral trade partner and a vital remittance corridor for Africa.”

Industry analysts see Moniepoint’s recognition as not only a validation of its rapid international expansion but also a signal of the growing influence of African-founded fintechs in global financial markets.

The company’s inclusion alongside established UK fintech leaders also underscores the importance of cross-border payments and digital banking solutions at a time of rising demand for seamless financial services across Africa and the diaspora.
