Fulfil Your Development Promises, Ekiti Communities Charge Oyebanji
Two communities in Ekiti State have appealed to Governor Biodun Oyebanji to deliver on promises made to them regarding key developmental projects.
In Ise Ekiti, Ise/Orun Local Government Area, indigenes are calling for the construction of a world-class Olowe Museum in honour of the late master carver, Olowe of Ise.
The demand was contained in a letter dated September 18, 2025, and signed by the National Secretary of the Ten O’s Club of Ise Ekiti, Patrick Abayomi.
Abayomi noted that the museum was part of the governor’s pledge to preserve the legacy of Olowe, an internationally renowned wood carver. He stressed that the project would boost the town’s cultural heritage, serve as an educational centre, and attract revenue through tourism.
“It is our collective appeal to Your Excellency to please fulfil the promise made to Ise people on the ultra-modern museum, which will contribute largely to the development of the town,” the letter read in part. “We strongly believe that the governor’s second tenure will see to its completion.”
The group, however, commended the Oyebanji administration for other ongoing projects in the town, including the construction of drainage channels across waterways.
Similarly, residents of Ijesa Isu in Ikole Local Government Area are pressing for the rehabilitation of the Iluomoba–Ijesa Isu–Ikole Road. Community leaders say the poor state of the road has hindered transportation and economic activities in the area, urging the state government to prioritise the project.
Both communities expressed confidence that Governor Oyebanji’s administration would address their concerns in line with its development agenda for Ekiti State.
