Rafael Nadal Warns Fans About AI-Generated Fake Endorsements

Former tennis superstar, Rafael Nadal has raised alarm over the misuse of his image and voice through artificial intelligence, warning fans against falling for fraudulent advertisements circulating online.

In a statement posted on social media on Tuesday, Nadal revealed that AI-generated videos imitating him are being shared across some platforms, falsely attributing investment advice and endorsements to him.

“Together with my team, we have detected that fake videos generated by artificial intelligence are circulating on some platforms, in which a figure that imitates my image and voice appears,” Nadal said.

“In these videos, advice or investment proposals that do not originate from me are attributed to me. This is deceptive advertising.”

The 39-year-old Spaniard, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in tennis history, retired in November 2024 after representing Spain at the Davis Cup.

Nadal won 22 Grand Slam titles in his illustrious career, including a record 14 French Open crowns.

The warning comes amid growing global concern about deepfake technology and its potential for fraud, especially in creating convincing impersonations of public figures.
