Ooni of Ife Visits Olubadan-Designate Rashidi Ladoja Ahead of Installation

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to the Olubadan-designate, Rashidi Ladoja, at his private residence in Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The visit comes ahead of Ladoja’s official installation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025. The forthcoming coronation follows the passing of the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who died on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the age of 90.

Oba Ogunwusi’s visit is seen as a demonstration of solidarity and respect between two revered traditional institutions in Yorubaland. It also underscores the significance of Ladoja’s ascension, which will continue the centuries-old Ibadan traditional hierarchy.

Rashidi Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, is widely regarded for his political experience and leadership qualities, which many believe will shape his reign as Olubadan.

The installation ceremony, set to hold in Ibadan, is expected to draw prominent traditional rulers, political leaders, and dignitaries from across Nigeria.
