Olayinka Slams Sowore Over Assassination Plot Claim

Lere Olayinka, Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed allegations by activist Omoyele Sowore that there is a plot to assassinate him.

Sowore had accused President Bola Tinubu and Wike of planning to eliminate him, alleging that the minister once threatened both him and an Independent National Electoral Commission official during a by-election.

Reacting on Saturday, Olayinka described the claim as baseless and politically motivated.

He accused Sowore of playing “mind games” to stay relevant, insisting that Wike was focused on delivering on Tinubu’s mandate in the FCT.

The accusation and counter-claim have sparked heated arguments on social media, with Sowore’s supporters demanding protection for him while Wike’s camp insists the activist is misleading the public.
