Nigerian Government Welcomes Home 148 Citizens Fleeing Sudan Conflict

The Nigerian government, through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has successfully repatriated 148 citizens from Sudan.
The returnees arrived at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on a chartered flight operated by Tarco Aviation. They comprised 25 men, 27 women, 39 male children, and 57 female children.
Upon arrival, the returnees were transported to the Chila Hotel for thorough profiling and documentation by relevant stakeholders.
Each returnee received a transport fare via an ATM card after completing the documentation process.
The repatriation of these Nigerian citizens is part of a broader effort by the government to address the challenges faced by Nigerians abroad.
NEMA continues to monitor the situation in Sudan and provide assistance to affected citizens.
The government has emphasized its commitment to providing support to returnees. This includes immediate humanitarian assistance such as food, medical care, and coordination to ensure a seamless reintegration process.
The return of these citizens comes amid ongoing conflict in Sudan, which has displaced millions and strained the country’s infrastructure.
The Nigerian government remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens abroad.
