I shall not be joining the ADC, Adeleke dispels recent rumors.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has once more dismissed allegations that he intends to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), reaffirming his allegiance to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Wednesday, the governor asserted that those intimidated by his burgeoning popularity were responsible for the rumors, aiming to mislead the public.

It should be noted that Adeleke had previously denied rumors suggesting he was planning to abandon the PDP in favor of the All Progressives Congress (APC). This followed media reports alleging that he had finalized plans to leave his party.

Addressing the renewed claims of his supposed alignment with the ADC, Adeleke declared his intention to contest the 2026 governorship election under the PDP banner, emphasizing that the party is already mobilizing efforts to secure his victory at the polls.

The governor also urged the public to dismiss the report, describing it as baseless and devoid of truth.

The statement reads, “Our attention has been drawn to a report alleging that Governor Ademola Adeleke is planning to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The report is not only false but a calculated attempt by those apprehensive of the governor’s rising acceptability to sow confusion and doubt in the minds of the people of Osun State.

“We wish to reiterate for the umpteenth time that Governor Adeleke remains steadfastly committed to the PDP and has no intention whatsoever of joining the ADC or any other party. Governor Adeleke’s primary focus at the moment is the continued delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people of Osun, who overwhelmingly entrusted him with their mandate three years ago.”
