Family Says Air India Crash Survivor May Never Return to UK

The sole survivor of the Air India crash that killed 241 people, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, has been described by his family as “too frightened to fly” and may never return to the United Kingdom.

Ramesh, a 40-year-old British national from Leicester, survived the tragic crash in India earlier this year but suffered serious injuries to his chest, eyes, and feet. He is currently receiving treatment in India.

Speaking on Saturday, his brother-in-law revealed that Ramesh remains deeply traumatised by the accident.

According to him, Ramesh is haunted by recurring nightmares, insomnia, and survivor’s guilt, making it difficult for him to resume a normal life.

The family explained that although his wife and young child initially stayed with him in India, they have since returned to the UK. They fear his trauma may prevent him from ever boarding a plane again.

Medical teams are continuing to provide treatment and counselling, but relatives say his recovery has been slow, and no timeline has been set for his return to Britain.

The Air India crash, which occurred in India and claimed 241 lives, remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the cause of the disaster.
