Sanwo-Olu Charges Nigerian Youths to Uphold Integrity, Embrace Positive Values

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on Nigerian youths to uphold integrity and embrace positive values that will contribute to building a just and equitable society where every citizen can thrive regardless of background.
The governor gave the charge on Friday at the 2025 International Youth Day Summit held at the Blue Roof, Ikeja. His remarks were contained in a statement released on Saturday by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Olabisi Adeola.
Sanwo-Olu, who also presented grants to winners of this year’s Amplifier Business Clinic, stressed that the future of the nation rests on the shoulders of young people, adding that their choices and actions would determine the kind of society Nigeria becomes.
“We must build a generation that values hard work, honesty, and integrity. Our youths must understand that success achieved without values cannot stand the test of time,” the governor was quoted as saying.
His comments come against the backdrop of growing concerns over the rising incidence of internet fraud and moral decline among Nigerian youths.
The International Youth Day Summit provided a platform for young people, entrepreneurs, and innovators to exchange ideas on leadership, nation-building, and entrepreneurship.
Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment through training, mentorship, and access to funding opportunities, urging participants to use such platforms to drive meaningful change.
