Uber to Offer Helicopter, Seaplane Flights through App by 2026

Ride-hailing giant, Uber has announced plans to integrate helicopter and seaplane flights into its app through a partnership with electric aviation firm Joby Aviation.
This move is part of Joby’s strategy to introduce its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) air taxis in key markets.
The partnership follows Joby’s acquisition of Blade Air Mobility’s passenger business in August 2025 for $125 million.
Blade’s established network and infrastructure will enable Joby to launch its services on popular routes, including Manhattan to JFK Airport and seasonal destinations like the Hamptons.
Users will be able to book Blade helicopter and seaplane flights directly through the Uber app, starting as early as 2026.
This integration will provide passengers with seamless booking of air and ground transportation for faster, more efficient travel.
Joby plans to launch its eVTOL air taxi service in Dubai in 2026, with other markets, including New York, Los Angeles, the United Kingdom, and Japan, set to follow.
The partnership aims to provide safe, quiet, and sustainable transportation options, reducing urban congestion and emissions.
The integration of helicopter and seaplane services into the Uber app will expand mobility options for users, enhancing the overall travel experience.
With this partnership, Uber continues to innovate and expand its services, providing users with more convenient and efficient transportation solutions.
