Musawa Showcases Nigeria’s Creative Might in Chengdu Ahead of Golden Panda Awards

Nigeria’s Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, on Friday engaged with the media in Chengdu, China, ahead of the Golden Panda Awards 2025.

Musawa confirmed the engagement in a post on her official X handle, writing: “Ahead of the Golden Panda Awards 2025, this morning I engaged with the media here in Chengdu, home of the giant pandas.”

The minister said the interaction provided a platform to spotlight Nigeria’s creative strength, stressing that the country’s participation in global cultural platforms reinforces its identity and influence on the world stage.

She noted that such engagements promote cultural diplomacy, strengthen bilateral relations, and create opportunities for Nigerian artists and creators.

The Golden Panda Awards, scheduled to take place in Chengdu, celebrate global excellence in film, television, and the creative industries while fostering cross-cultural exchange.

Nigeria is expected to feature prominently at this year’s ceremony.

Musawa also reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to growing the nation’s creative economy, describing it as a vital tool for diplomacy, economic development, and national branding.

The 2025 Golden Panda Awards will bring together filmmakers, actors, cultural leaders, and policymakers from around the world for a celebration of creativity and collaboration.
