FBI Releases Photo of Person of Interest in Kirk Killing

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released a surveillance image of a man described as a “person of interest” in the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Kirk, 31, was shot dead on Wednesday, September 10, while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Authorities say the fatal shot came from a rooftop near the venue, sparking a massive search for the shooter.

On Thursday, the FBI made public a photo of the unidentified man, believed to be of college age. He was last seen wearing dark clothing, including a long-sleeved black shirt, sunglasses, and a baseball cap.

Investigators say he may have crucial information about the attack.

A high-powered bolt-action rifle was recovered near the scene, along with other forensic evidence such as footprints and palm prints. Officials believe the weapon was used in the killing.

The FBI is appealing to the public for assistance, urging anyone with information about the individual to come forward. A reward has been announced for credible tips leading to his identification and arrest.

Kirk, the founder of conservative youth movement Turning Point USA, had been hosting a live “Prove Me Wrong” event when the shooting occurred. His death has drawn nationwide reactions and renewed concerns about political violence in the United States.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing as forensic experts analyze both physical and digital evidence to track down the person responsible.
