APC Defers Inauguration of Anambra Election Campaign Council

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the postponement of the inauguration of its National Campaign Council for the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, disclosed this in a statement issued via the APC’s official X handle on Thursday.

According to Morka, the inauguration, earlier scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, has been put on hold.

He explained that a new date will be communicated in due course, assuring party members and stakeholders that the development would not affect preparations for the poll.

“The party remains fully committed to ensuring a strong and successful showing in the November 8 governorship election in Anambra State,” the statement read in part.

The postponement comes at a time political parties in the state are intensifying efforts to strengthen their campaign structures ahead of the election.

The APC is expected to field a strong candidate in the race, with the campaign council playing a crucial role in mobilising grassroots support across the state.

Observers say the eventual inauguration of the campaign council will signal the party’s readiness to officially kick off its campaigns in Anambra, where it hopes to challenge the dominance of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and other opposition parties.
