Troops of 6 Brigade Recover Arms Cache in Wukari, Taraba

Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade in Jalingo have recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The recovery followed a cordon-and-search operation carried out after credible intelligence indicated that the location was being used by armed groups to hide weapons.

During the operation, soldiers uncovered bags containing rifles, magazines, slings, and other military gear concealed in the area.

Although the Army has not released the exact number of items seized, footage obtained by Channels Television showed the recovered weapons and equipment displayed after the operation.

Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their vigilance and professionalism, assuring residents that the Army remains committed to dismantling criminal networks in the state.

He urged communities to continue providing timely information to support security operations.

Wukari and nearby communities in southern Taraba have faced recurring insecurity, including communal clashes and attacks by armed groups.

The latest recovery, according to military authorities, forms part of ongoing efforts to deny criminals access to weapons and to restore lasting peace in the region.

The Army confirmed that the recovered arms are now in safe custody, while investigations are ongoing to trace those responsible for the stockpile.
