El-Rufai Demands Probe Of Kaduna Police Officers In Petition To PSC

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has petitioned the Police Service Commission (PSC) over alleged misconduct by senior officers of the Kaduna State Police Command.
The petition, dated September 8, 2025, was submitted to the PSC headquarters in Abuja. El-Rufai accused the Kaduna Police Commissioner and other top officers of engaging in acts he described as “unlawful, unconstitutional, and unprofessional.”
According to him, the conduct of the officers since December 2024 has violated provisions of the Police Act, 2020, and amounted to abuse of office and dereliction of professional ethics.
He alleged that the police in the state had been used to suppress opposition voices and disrupt lawful political activities.
El-Rufai urged the PSC to immediately launch an impartial and exhaustive investigation into the conduct of the officers, stressing that accountability in the police force is critical to upholding the rule of law and protecting democracy.
The development comes just days after the Kaduna State Police Command summoned El-Rufai and several African Democratic Congress (ADC) leaders to appear before the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on allegations of criminal conspiracy, incitement, and public disturbance.
