NNPP Expels Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, Kano Lawmakers

The Kano State chapter of the New Nigeria People’s Party has expelled Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, a member of the House of Representatives representing Kiru/Bebeji constituency.
Kofa expressed shock and disappointment over the decision, arguing that his interviews didn’t warrant such punishment. He emphasized that the party’s principles allow for dissenting views and criticized the expulsion process for lacking fair hearing and due process.
Kofa claimed he wasn’t given the opportunity to defend himself or explain his actions before the expulsion decision was made.
The NNPP, however, accused Kofa of engaging in anti-party activities and defaulting on party dues. Despite the expulsion, Kofa has chosen to accept the decision in good faith and wishes the party well.
He thanked the party for the support he enjoyed during his tenure and expressed pride in his contributions to the party. Kofa also appealed for a peaceful parting and requested that the party refrain from personal attacks or insults.
He stated that he will carefully consider his options before deciding on his next political home.
