Tambuwal Vows Full Commitment to Unseating Tinubu in 2027

Former Sokoto State Governor and ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has declared his full commitment to the political process aimed at removing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from office in the 2027 elections.

Tambuwal made the declaration during an interview on Channels Television on Friday, stressing that his involvement would be carried out “democratically and lawfully.”

“I am fully involved in the process to send Tinubu’s government out of office,” he said. “This is not about a northern agenda, but a national consensus to rescue Nigeria from the current hardship.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain explained that the coalition working towards unseating the All Progressives Congress (APC) government cuts across different regions and political backgrounds.

He pointed to the involvement of figures such as former Anambra governor Peter Obi and former Osun governor Rauf Aregbesola as evidence that the movement is not regional but national in scope.

Tambuwal accused the Tinubu administration of failing Nigerians, citing worsening inflation, the removal of fuel subsidy, the floating of the naira, and rising insecurity as reasons why change is necessary.

He also urged opposition parties to put aside their differences and unite ahead of the 2027 polls, insisting that only a broad coalition can defeat the APC.

Political observers say Tambuwal’s remarks reflect growing discontent with Tinubu’s economic reforms and signal early mobilisation within the opposition camp.
