Peter Obi Boosts Healthcare in Anambra with ₦10 Million Donation

Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has made a significant contribution to the healthcare sector in Anambra State.
Obi donated ₦10 million to the Aguata Anglican Diocese to support the acquisition and revitalization of the Good Hope Specialist Hospital in Isulo, Orumba South Local Government Area.
During his visit to the hospital, Obi emphasized the importance of prioritizing healthcare and other critical sectors in Nigeria’s development.
He expressed his joy in contributing to a project that will enhance access to quality healthcare for the people, stating that investing in healthcare is a meaningful way to uplift society.
The Aguata Anglican Diocese plans to transform the hospital into a comprehensive health complex, with a vision to establish a School of Nursing, School of Midwifery, and School of Health Technology.
This initiative aims to create a hub for training future healthcare professionals and meet the growing medical needs of the community.
Obi’s donation is part of his continued commitment to projects that benefit humanity. He has previously supported various institutions, including the Tansian College of Nursing, Oba, Anambra State, with a ₦10 million donation in March 2025.
The Chairman of the Aguata Diocesan Hospital Board, Ven. Dr. M.C. Obi, expressed gratitude for Obi’s support and assured that the diocese will utilize the facility optimally and make it a center of excellence for healthcare delivery.
