Plateau Governor Mutfwang Felicitates Muslims on Eid-ul-Maulud

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has extended warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah in the state and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-ul-Maulud, which commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
In a goodwill message issued on Friday by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the governor urged Muslims to reflect on the noble virtues of the Prophet, including peace, love, humility, tolerance, integrity, and compassion for humanity.
He described the annual Maulud celebration, widely observed across northern Nigeria with prayers, processions, and community gatherings, as an opportunity for the faithful to renew their relationship with God and deepen bonds of unity and brotherhood.
“The commemoration of Eid-ul-Maulud presents a unique opportunity for the faithful to renew their relationship with the Almighty, strengthen bonds of brotherhood, and uphold the Prophet’s teachings of unity, peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and selfless service to humanity,” the statement read in part.
Mutfwang urged Muslims to use the sacred period to pray for lasting peace in Plateau State and Nigeria at large, stressing the need for collective efforts to overcome insecurity and promote national development.
He also called on all citizens, regardless of religion or ethnicity, to support his administration’s commitment to fostering unity and stability.
“On behalf of the government and people of Plateau State, the governor prayed for divine grace to live by the Prophet’s exemplary life of sacrifice, courage, and unwavering faith,” the statement added.
