Tinubu Remains Committed to Economic Diversification, Assures Shettima

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to diversifying Nigeria’s economy and driving sustainable growth across key sectors.
Shettima stated this on Thursday while receiving a delegation from the Nigerian Economic Society (NES), led by its President, Prof. Adeola Adenikinju, during a courtesy visit at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Highlighting President Tinubu’s determination to reposition Nigeria’s economy, the Vice-President noted that the administration is deliberately pursuing reforms aimed at reducing dependence on oil revenue and boosting investments in other sectors.
“President Tinubu is a leader with the political will to take bold decisions. His recent official visit to Brazil, which culminated in the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), is a clear demonstration of this commitment,” Shettima said.
According to him, the MoUs—covering aviation, foreign affairs, science and technology, and agriculture are strategic steps towards strengthening bilateral relations and creating opportunities for economic growth.
Shettima added that the administration values collaboration with professional bodies such as the NES in shaping policies that will address Nigeria’s economic challenges and unlock its vast potential.
On his part, Prof. Adenikinju commended the government’s reform agenda, while pledging the Society’s support in providing research-based insights and policy recommendations to guide economic planning and execution.
The Vice-President assured that President Tinubu’s administration will continue to engage stakeholders in pursuit of its Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing that diversifying the economy is key to ensuring inclusive development and long-term prosperity.
