How Governor Adeleke Engaged Me as Chef at Osun Government House, Enthuses Puff-puff Vendor

A 30-year-old economics graduate with a National Certificate of Education, Oluwatosin Adejumo, has recounted her journey to becoming employed by the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, as a chef at the Osun State Government House.
In an interview, Oluwatosin shared the poignant story of losing her mother, which rendered her unable to pursue further education.
“After my mother’s passing, continuing my education became an unattainable dream. During this challenging period, I encountered a maternal figure, Mrs. Funmilayo Grace, who worked as a caterer. I often accompanied her to her engagements, which allowed me to save a modest sum. With the assistance of suppliers who extended credit, I was able to repay them through profits from my burgeoning puff-puff enterprise.”
Governor Adeleke reportedly noticed her while she was selling puff-puff, enthusiastically greeting him along with others celebrating during a solidarity march. The governor invited her over, purchased her entire stock, and generously gifted her N50,000 in cash.
“He inquired if I was a graduate, to which I replied affirmatively. Subsequently, he entrusted me to a commissioner.
“He further declared that I would no longer depend on my puff-puff business for sustenance. Instead, I was appointed as a chef at the Osun State Government House.”
