Family of Three Dies in Abuja Car Crash After Clash With Louts

A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday along the Mabushi Bridge in Abuja, where a family of three lost their lives in a fatal car crash following an altercation with suspected louts.
The louts had stopped the private vehicle after accusing the driver of flouting their rules by allegedly picking up a relative along the route. When the driver reportedly refused to pay the “fine” demanded, the confrontation escalated. The louts were said to have forced their way into the car, dragging the steering wheel while the vehicle was in motion. This interference caused the driver to lose control, resulting in a crash that killed the family instantly.
The tragic scene sparked outrage among passersby, who pursued the louts. One of them was caught and set ablaze, while two others were severely beaten. Security operatives later intervened, rescuing the injured louts and rushing them to the National Hospital, Abuja, for treatment.
Police authorities confirmed the incident, stating that the bodies of the deceased family members had been recovered, while investigations into the matter are ongoing.
The crash has once again raised concerns about the menace of touts operating along major highways and bridges in the Federal Capital Territory, with residents calling for stricter enforcement to prevent further loss of lives.
