Thor Explorations Reports Promising Results from Maiden Drilling Program at Guitry Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire

Thor Explorations Ltd. has announced promising results from its maiden drilling program at the Guitry gold project in Côte d’Ivoire.

The 3,000-meter reverse-circulation drill campaign yielded high-grade intercepts, including eight meters of 14.54 grams per tonne gold and four meters of 10.68 grams per tonne gold.

The Guitry project is located 220 kilometers west of Abidjan, covering 295 square kilometers within the Tehini Greenstone Belt.

Previous exploration by Endeavour Mining included extensive soil sampling and over 11,000 meters of drilling, identifying two main prospects: Krakouadiokro and Gbaloukro. Mineralization at Krakouadiokro remains open both along strike and down dip, with significant intersections suggesting potential for further discovery.

Thor Explorations CEO Segun Lawson expressed optimism about the project’s progress, highlighting the potential for a maiden resource estimate in Côte d’Ivoire before the end of the year.

The company plans to resume drilling after the rainy season, focusing on expanding known mineralization and testing uncharted areas. Côte d’Ivoire is emerging as a key player in West African gold mining, hosting over 30% of the region’s greenstone belts.

Thor Explorations is also conducting a maiden drilling program at its Marahui Project, driven by encouraging initial exploration results.
