Tochi Wigwe’s TW Entrepreneurship 2030 Agenda Set to Strengthen SMEs in Nigeria

Entrepreneur and Director of The HOW Foundation, Tochi Wigwe, has reaffirmed her commitment to empowering Nigeria’s small business ecosystem through the TW Entrepreneurship 2030 Agenda for (#TWEAGENDA) — a transformative initiative targeted at micro and small business owners across the country.
The programme, a five-year plan unveiled earlier this year, aims to support over 5,000 entrepreneurs with practical, innovative, and non-financial solutions tailored to foster long-term sustainability and resilience in Nigeria’s challenging business environment.
Wigwe hosted the finale of the Town Hall Series on August 2, 2025, a platform that brought together entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors, and thought leaders to deliberate on actionable strategies for strengthening the SME sector.
Speaking at the event, she emphasized that the #TWEAGENDA goes beyond financial aid, focusing instead on capacity building, mentorship, digital adoption, market access, and policy advocacy to enable entrepreneurs thrive.
“Nigeria’s growth story is incomplete without SMEs. They are the backbone of our economy, yet they face daily struggles that go beyond funding. The TW Entrepreneurship 2030 Agenda is about creating a robust support system that gives small businesses the tools, knowledge, and networks they need to succeed,” Wigwe stated.
The Town Hall Series, which toured multiple Nigerian cities before the finale, provided an avenue for entrepreneurs to share their challenges while also gaining insights from experts in technology, branding, operations, and business law.
Participants described the sessions as a lifeline for business survival and innovation in an economy where SMEs contribute nearly half of the GDP but still grapple with high failure rates.
Industry stakeholders present at the finale lauded the initiative, describing it as a game-changer for Nigeria’s entrepreneurial landscape, especially at a time when small businesses face inflationary pressures, foreign exchange volatility, and limited access to credit.
With the conclusion of the Town Hall Series, the #TWEAGENDA will now move into its implementation phase, rolling out tailored programmes, strategic partnerships, and nationwide interventions aimed at strengthening the foundations of Nigeria’s entrepreneurial future by 2030.
