Tinubu Celebrates Shettima at 59, Praises Vice President’s Loyalty, Service

President Bola Tinubu has extolled Vice President Kashim Shettima as he marks his 59th birthday, describing him as a steadfast partner in Nigeria’s journey of renewal.
In a statement on Tuesday, Tinubu said choosing Shettima as his running mate in the 2023 presidential election was one of the best decisions he has ever made, noting that the Vice President has consistently demonstrated loyalty, courage, and a deep commitment to national service.
“I did not make a mistake in choosing you,” the President declared, while lauding Shettima’s unwavering belief in Nigeria’s greatness and his tireless efforts to support the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Tinubu praised the Vice President’s contributions to critical areas of governance, including forging global partnerships, driving food security programmes, and spearheading investment reforms that have begun to yield results.
He said Shettima’s experience as a former Governor of Borno State and Senator for Borno Central reflects a leadership style rooted in service rather than privilege, even in the face of daunting challenges.
The President also acknowledged the personal bond he shares with his deputy, describing Shettima as more than a political ally. “You are my brother, co-traveller and Vice President,” he said, adding that their partnership symbolizes national unity across regions and traditions.
Looking ahead, Tinubu assured Nigerians that his joint leadership with Shettima will continue to deliver tangible progress in education, healthcare, job creation, and infrastructure.
He concluded by wishing the Vice President renewed strength, wisdom, and many more years of impactful service to Nigeria.
